Jamaica Diving?

My wife wants to go back to Jamaica. Last time we went we weren't certified so didn't do any diving other than the resort course. Does anyone know of any good dive locations in Jamaica? We'll be staying in Negril. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi, we just got back from 2 weeks in Negril. We never did any diving, we werent certified yet, but we did alot of snorkeling which was great, very clear water, and we spoke with some people staying next door to us that dived everyday, they said that the diving near the cliffs (west end of Negril) was great.

I just got back from Negril. About your only option is Sundivers. They are very nice. They will pick you up and drop you off. My friend and I dove with them for 2 days, total of 6 dives. You won't be able to get more than 3 in per day. The days are just not long enough. Be sure to send them an email in advance with the days you want to dive. It was pretty busy when we were there but no one was turned away. Some pretty cool dives, small caverns, swim throughs. Decent stuff to see.

Negril is really nice, easy, clear, warm water diving. Not a place for huge pelagics or extreme fish count, but it is fun, plenty of creatures and underwater features to make it fun. If your resort offers diving (the big all-inclusives) then you'll get 1-2 dives per day, mostly in the morning. If not, then check out SunDivers. Very nice people, safe divers, good service. Myron and Emilee will take good care of you.
