The vis was about 50 ft. I don't want to give the wrong impression about seeing big stuff. Saw a turtle, know of others that saw turtles. Dove with a tarpon every night. Know of an eagle ray sighting. But relative to the amount of sea life on the reef, there wasn't much big stuff. I think that is the nature of the diving there.
One morning I got my truck stuck by White Slave. While digging it out, a huge pod of dolphins passed by inside the reef. They were diving and twisting. It's a big ocean. You never know what might swim by...

That's true. We didn't see much large life either when there, but heard of plenty... sounds like you've got to be in the right place at the right time. Next time we go I'm bringing the X scooter... that way we can run large portions of the southern reef looking for big critters. It'd also open up more diving on the "wild side."

I think I have to dispute that a little bit. There is lots of coral, but there is also lots of DEAD coral... I was a little disappointed, but the coral was much healthier at some of the harder to reach places, like Rapel.
