I agree on the ventilation at the Roatan Airport... it's really bad in there.. especially when your whole plane is waiting for one immigration officer! We enjoy Utila, even it's airport, and are headed back soon!

OUTSTANDING REPORT!! I am leaving on the 19th for CA. I will be starting in Belize but plan on spending up to a week on Roatan. Thanks again for your detailed trip report.
Any dive shops or hotels I should avoid?

Clazie,
I'm not familiar enough with the other dive ops or hotels in West End to say which (if any) should be avoided. However, because of problems with keeping the electricity on, a good question for both a dive op and a hotel is, "Do you have a back-up generator?" I know from my own experience that Coconut Tree Divers has a back-up generator, and Hidden Garden Cabins does not.
Have a great trip!

I took three differnt trips to Roatan last year.

The airport was a killer.

I dove with Las Rocas but my favorite DM left

Also a good item instead of cactus juice is skin so soft bug guard plus picaridin and start taking B-50 complex before you go. This will make you less tasty to the biting insects. Also Link with quinine in it helps.

We are going in November. Does anyone have any experience with fosters on west bay beach? Awsome pics. How many of those were taken at night?

Thanks, mtbr00x. All of the photos were taken during daylight hours, I didn't do any night dives in Roatan. The photos that came out dark I'll blame on my strobe, occasional poor viz and not being close enough to my subject.
