Question Anyone tried Honduras

We are looking at spots for a 7-10 day dive vacation next year, and Honduras is in the discussion. It is easy getting feedback on Boniare and Coz but I would be interested to hear from people that have been to Honduras?

Went to Roatan in December, stayed ay Coco View and had a good time. Lots of rain that time of year, so the water was kind of murky. Hoping to make a trip back in April or May which is supposed to be a good time to go.

Utila and Roatan rock. Planning on diving Guanaja and the Cochinos in a couple of weeks.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Honduras/Bay Islands/Roatan....is one of the last Banana Republics....better go now before the cruise ships take over....I have been going there since the late 70's...great diving...I prefer the South side of the island...the walls IMO are dramatic and the corals/sponges are like carpet plus there is great shore diving.....I have stayed at AKR (Anthony's Key Resort)on the North side.....and CCV CoCo View on the south side....I prefer CCV.....great shore diving two walls and a shipwreck right off of the resort...not sure what questions you have so not sure what to tell you about going there....

Fantasy Island

It's right across the way from Coco View in Roatan. I've found that it's cheaper and the rooms are nicer. Coco view has a nicer dive shop should you need something repaired, but you can always take a quick trip over there if necessary. I've been to Fantasy Island 5 times. For the price, you can't that much good diving in.

The main diff between FIBR and CCV is that CCV is a dive resort and FIBR is a resort w/diving....

Check out Guanaja. It's not as built up as Roatan or Utila.

I've heard the sand-fleas are pretty nasty at FI

We did Utila over new years. good fun. Getting there can be a pain even if you fly. I would call it the middle sister.
