Who's going to Cozumel first?

After Dean that is. Anyone hear an update yet as to the real extent of the damage? Spent 10 days there in early July and the wife is already suggesting...strongly... that we try to make plans to go again over the Thanksgiving holiday. If anyone is going soon I would love to hear feedback / trip report about the conditions.

BTW, what kind of wetsuit would be best there for end of November?

I was there 72 hours before, and from everything I am hearing the storm missed them to the south. I think you would be fine. I had a full 3MM at Christmas last year.

Our club always went mid-November, and I usually never wear a wetsuit (2.5mil shorty at the most). I think the water is mid-80's all year round, with maybe variances of a few degrees up or down.

from everything I hear from friends who live on the island...everything is pretty much getting back to normal...cruise ships due into today as well as flights....diving is on....by all means go in Nov if you have the chance....water should still be in the 80's I always were a 3mm...if a Norte blows through a wind breaker on the boat will feel good

Great info guys. Much appreciated. The link to Christi's blog was especially helpful and informative. Good to hear a report from someone on the scene. I like to plan early so I guess I'd better get started. With any luck there won't be another so close this year. Or next year...or...ever.

Cozumel 08/24

We just spent the weekend in Cozumel - back today 08/27. The worst part of the trip - coming BACK!!! Cozumel is in great shape. We couldn't even tell there had been a hurricane anywhere close. The visibility was down the first two days, but by Sunday it was almost as clear as always. Seems like a lot of people were scared off by the storm, so the island was really quiet and peaceful.

Reef Club, Cozumel

Has anyone been to the Reef Club since its affiliation with the Wyndham Resorts? If so, any different?
