Cancun has some nice diving.
Ben Mooney at Mayan Aqua Divers is great - he'll get you picked up and dropped off at your hotel (no extra cost) and runs a nice shop. Mayan Aqua Dive offers Cancun Diving, Snorkeling, Cavern Diving, Cozumel Dives&PADI Courses avoid aquaworld at all costs. Ray |

However - if you are in the cancun area - and don't want to leave the area - it's a nice place to get your fins wet. Certainly I wouldn't take a vacation to Cancun if diving was my primary purpose. But I think it would be a crime to be in Cancun for a few days and not dive. ![]() sites: Manchones is a nice shallow site (30 ft or less) with lots of reef to look at...no large animals, but lots of coral, sea fans, etc. I'de have to look at my log book for the others. There is a wreck in Cancun...nothing special, but I'm a reef guy, not a wreck guy. |

The problem if you are up in Cancun is that its a haul down to Playa, then on the ferry, then the boat ride down to the reefs, and then reversing the process. Makes for a very long day, not something you can do when squeezing in a dive or two. I would concur on Ben with Mayan Aquadives.
I think they also go over to Isla Marjues which has some nice reef diversity as well and is much closer to Cancun than Cozumel. I wouldn't want to spend a week there, but for 1-2 dives would be great. |
