My father called me at 6:30 am central time. They still live in San Pedro Sula and they said that it really shook things up. One of the bridges that goes through a town called "El progresso" was badly damaged.

All in all he says that there is very little, if any, stuctural damage all around. Very good news.

what to do??

hello, there are 8 of us divers set to go to Roatan.. Fantasy island resort May 30-June 8th...

called the resort and they said everything is still operating as planned. So we are still going.

I'm a little nervous now with this earthquake.
What does one do if there are after shocks while you are diving?

Do you feel it?

thanks....

If you're in the water you'll probably miss it unless it's really big in which case there might be a surge. Just don't go into overhead environments and you'll be ok.
Here's a link to another thread about this,
Earthquake

Reports from Utila is that there was lots of shaking, but nothing structural damages. A couple of reports indicate some substantial reef damage (barrel sponges seem to have been particularly hard hit). I've not gotten a report from the north side dives to see if there was any walls that gave way. Our place on the island is fine, not even a broken glass.

Hope that helps and don't hesitate to head to Utila. Its a marvelous place to spend some time above and below water.

Cheers
