Oh, and specifically.... anyone ever rent one of the Hyundai H1 9 passenger vans from them? Good/bad? Do the seats come out for extra luggage capacity?

Use Andys every time I am there. Recommended. Cheaper to reserve from their website

No experience with large vans. We always get jeeps 'cos you can hose them down

Are they real picky about charging you cleaning fees if there is a little sand it the vehicle or anything?

Never had a problem. You should be fine unless it is really nasty.

I have been told that zip ties might be useful for securing fenders that were inadvertently pulled off by trees when doing tight turns on overgrown jungle tracks while looking for the entrance to Anchor Point......................

Lol.

Do you need 4WD to get to any of the shore dive sites?

No. The track to the put in to Anchor Point is pretty rough but you dont need 4WD.

If the gate to Barefoot Beach Gardens is open you can just drive in there. (Only 2 houses, never seen anybody in them)

This is one of the few areas on Cayman that has Sea Turtle Nests so treat the small beach there with care. (Keep trucks off the sand)

I have rented from Andys three different times. The big vans are great - pretty sure it was a GM type probably Chevy van. Held 8 of us in comfort. Lots of luggage space.

I have never had a problem with sand left in the car - they only get upset if you bring it back with WET seats.

I also rented the Cadillac and had a tire go flat - they came across the island and replaced the wheel for me - no charge!

I highly recommend Andy's - definitely ask for a discount at the counter they always give me another 10% off.

I have used them for many years. I have rented the large vans, but not the Hyundai van. I have rented the Hyundai orange color, hard top SUV for my wife and I. That was fun!
I get full coverage every time, just in case. They are very friendly and helpful. You get an extra 15% discount, I believe, if you reserve online. However, I have had a problem getting a confirmation from them online. You may need to follow up with an email to verify the reservation.

Were all 8 of the people divers? How many bags do you think you crammed in there?

Sounds like Andy's has some good customer service..
