Any experience with Northern Coast Diving, Dominican Republic?
My wife and I are headed to Dominical Republic in Feb '08, to an all inclusive resort (Blue Bay Getaway). We will be in Puerto Plata on the North side of the island. I *think* the Sosua is fairly close by and, from their web-site, Northern Coast Aquasports is a possibility for a couple of dives. Dominican Republic SCUBA dive packages and snorkeling adventures with Northern Coast Diving in Sosua
Has anyone had any experience with them? Is Sosua close enough to make it practical? I am a new diver and will be looking for some fairly easy dives to practice what I learned (and get some great pictures, I hope). |

I dove in Punta Cana about a year ago, It was through Pro Watersports at the Catalonia Bavaro resort. Coral was very stressed, no color, few fish, A couple wrecks and swim throughs, Good visibility but had a strong current in spots. I still liked it regardless.

I've just come back from Dom Rep. I went down to the beach to ask at the dive shop about some dives and saw their dive boat coming in, after watching the staff throw the cylinders from the boat to land valve first in the sand I walked away without talking to them. I'm not certain this is the same outfit from your link but the picture of "hotel Sosua by the sea" looks very similar to the one on the beach of the Casa Marina Hotel |
