Question Santa Rosa Wall

I would love to dive the infamous Santa Rosa Wall, so what is the shallowest depth that one can dive the wall and the dive still be enjoyable? I am not really comfortable yet doing deep dives, (max depth for me is 85 ft).

I'd have to crack my logbooks to be sure, but IIRC you should have no problem working out a profile at Santa Rosa in that depth range.

Enjoy it - my first dive at Santa Rosa blew me away.

You could easily make a 45-60ft dive and still be blown away!

most places you go almost all of the life is between 40' and 80'. no real need to go deep to see the fish and coral.

also, once you get more comfortable, i think you'll notice that there's not much difference between 85' and 100'+.

Traci,
I did both Santa Rosa Wall and the Shallows last year, average depth was 67 feet for the wall and 51 for the shallows. Great dive, lots to see. BTW, why did you call it "infamous"?

Because I have talk to people who either loved or or hated it, or scared the *#%@ out of them, because they did not like the feeling of the abyss below them.

We will have to go out in a different boat then the guys, not doing the 120' with them. You know boys, its all about the depth

Well, I hope you keep an open mind about it. I do believe it is a great dive and the "abyss" is just part of the mystery and beauty. I would highly recommend it as a "must do" dive. My wife has the same problem with looking down and seeing the depth. That's the beauty of this thread, take in all of the info, make your own decision.

What ever you decide, good luck and enjoy Cozumel!!!
