Los Cabos Conditions Update
Howdy yaŽll....
we did two dives this morning before going to work...just wanted to let you about the conditions if any of you might be coming this way for the holiday season.... 1st Dive: Lands End.....max depth today was 75ft. deeper posible if wanted. Vis down to about 50 ft. Temp 77F. I wore a 5mm, no hood. my wife a 5mm with hood....we were both quite comfortable. Mild current, mostly tidal surge in the cut-outs and trenches....sea lions very active (must be mating season, or they have sundays off and were partying) Today was eel heaven...incentive convention or a time share thing..donŽt know.....no rays, lots of fish (reef type) groupers, puffers galore, stick fish..etc.... 2nd Dive: North Wall....max depth today was 55ft....but as deep as you wanna go on this dive. (first wall goes to about 150, the second wall to bottom if around 400-500.....donŽt drop your pencil!) Vis about 35Ž temp 76....no current notable....lots of fish on the drop off, bait schools etc....but with this vis today was more interesting to dive very slow and check out the small stuff.....lobster, urchins, the smallest trigger fish Ive ever seen.....big, big fish at depth and distant, couldnŽt tell what they were, but shadows were big....probably the big grouper we get this time of year to lay their eggs.... all in all, it was better than being at work...winter conditions have defintely started and we have extreme changes day to day in conditions.... saludos de los cabos! |
