Topside Activities in Dominica
Since my husband has taken over sharing all the underwater shots of our week off in Dominica, I figured I'd cover above ground activities. Here's a smattering of some of the fun things to do topside in Dominica...some for the adventurous and some for the not quite so adventurous...
![]() Repel/hike down the ropes at Wavine Cyrique on the SE side of the island...there's a waterfall crashing on to the beach at the end--a blast! ![]() Hike up to Sari Sari fall...it's about a 30 minute slippery hike, but the view and the refreshing swim is worth the effort! ![]() Kayak over to Secret Beach just south of Portsmouth...and visit the secret cave, too! ![]() Drive over to Titou Gorge...cold, but surely a sight to see! ![]() And last but not least, bring the grill down to the beach to watch the sun set over the Caribbean--no restrictive laws for fire or bottles on the beach, and remember to bring all the Kubuli you can drink! So there you have it...a few topside things to do if you ever make it to the Nature Island! |

I've always wanted to go back to Dominica. I was there on business in the early 90's. But it was so laid back, I just loved it. My biggest regret is that I didn't get to do any diving when I was there. Or hiking for that matter. But some of the people I met told me about the falls you have pictured. The people were very friendly, and it wasn't a place for the "Regular" tourist. But I really liked the island. And you're right, it has breathtaking sunsets.
