Playa Azul Cozumel
We are going to stay at Playa Azul in Cozumel for 11 days in the beginning of Feb 08. Now that we've found a hotel I am trying to find a good dive op. This will be our first time to Coz, we've been to the Mayan Riviera last Jan 07. My hubby will be golfing so I am looking for a dive op ANd a dive buddy.
Any input? Thanks Choco |

Lots of threads on Coz, but I like Cozumel Scuba Diving with Alison and Cozumel Diving: Blue XT SEA Diving, Cozumel Mexico
Both are small very good ops IMO. |

I'll offer up Papa Hogs. Great people, will pick you up at whatever hotel you're staying at. Small, fast boats, usually limited to a max of 6 divers. I've never used anyone else in 5 trips, so I cannot compare. There are lots of good shops on the island and the list of who NOT to dive with is probably easier to get
![]() As far as a buddy goes, most shops will find you a buddy or buddy with the DM. I'd like to think that at depth, everyone is my buddy! I certainly wouldn't refuse to help someone just because they aren't *my* buddy.

thanks for the help
I was looking at maybe using Aldora, they have some good press and it looks like they pick up close to Playa Azul. Anyone have good or bad to say about them? I emailed Scubawith Alison and she sounds nice and has good press on the boards, just have to take a taxi to the Caleta, $10 each way. I am thinking I might go with her anyway.... BUT also considering Aldora.
thanks for the pics of Playa Azul too. |
