All inclusive
I'm looking for an all inclusive resort that includes scuba diving. My son will be diving with me and the rest of the family will be laying on the beach. I know Sandals has a scuba included package. Does anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks.

We stayed at the Grand Sirenis on the Riveria Maya in Mexico. All-Inclusive resort and has a dive shop right on the beach. Very easy to make dive plans. If you want to dive, they are on the beach, no finding taxi's and traveling. They also offer other trips depending on what you want to do.

Where are you going? I've stayed at Sandals in Jamaica, and dove with them. Sandals has places all over the Caribbean. They're couples-only, though, no children, so you'll want their sister company, Breezes, which is the same but for families with kids.
The resorts are nice, there are tons of free and fun activities to enjoy, and the drinks are free and plentiful. Lots to do, but beware the sales pitches where they spend a lot of time convincing you to leave the all-inclusive resorts and spend lots of extra money on outside tours so they can get kick-backs. The diving, however, is very much aimed at the "I dive once a year on vacation" crowd. Short and unchallenging, usually at fairly heavily-trafficked sites, under the strict supervision of a DM, and the dive is over when the first air hog hits 1500 psi. If that sort of thing appeals to you and the description fits you, it's actually a great and fun way to get a taste of diving with your vacation. But it's a vacation with a little diving sprinkled for fun, NOT a diving vacation, so it depends on what you're looking for. |

You may want to try this one:
All Inclusive Dive Vacations - Caribbean, Aruba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica They have operations all over the Caribbean. We go to Grand Cozunel and love it They have a dive shop on the grounds. You can make your dive arrangements on-line.

I stayed at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica and had a great time at the resort the diving was not so good It looked like a desert and it was VERY guided, but in terms of cost it was not too bad, but next time I'll go some where else for better diving. |
