I can answer several questions about Bonaire and Kids Sea Camp.
First Bonaire: if you want to stay somewhere with shore diving, then look to Buddys or Cpt Don's. They have great shore diving, and they are definitely dive resorts.
If you want inexpensive, look at Happy Holiday Homes. They are small places, but have full kitchens. Not on the water (although they may have acquired a place that is actually on the water that you can rent). I've stayed at HHH several times. Well run, and inexpensive. They have some very specific rules, but nothing too crazy (don't take their towels to the beach--they have specific towels to use for beach vs in rooms). You can buy groceries and save money.
Now for Kids Sea Camp:
Kids Sea Camp Family Scuba Dive Vacation Travel Packages They offer family vacations that are really great for everyone. I have done these vacations twice. The first time my oldest did the seal team, my youngest did kids sea camp. Second time my oldest got certified and my youngest did seal team. They do a great job of making sure the kids have a great time and the adults can dive. I thought it was a great plan for being able to do a family vacation where the adults can also dive while the kids are having a vacation (not just being babysat). My kids had a blast. We did both weeks in Curacao. I would have liked to do Bonaire, but it wasn't offered when we wanted to go (they've changed the weeks, but Bonaire was offered when my kids were still in school the year we went). Lots of fun for everyone, and the kids have instant friends.
PM me if you want more details! I love bonaire. I haven't been able to take the family yet, but hopefully next year (both boys are now divers!!!).
