Where is the party in Bonaire??

Heading solo to Bonaire mid-August for a week. Can someone tell me, topside, where's the party? Looking to meet pretty women, good food, and good music. Any advice appreciated (places to go, places to avoid).

I'm guessing it's your first time. Bonaire's a pretty quiet, laidback, did I mention quiet? place at night.

For nightlife there's the casino at Divi Flamingo, and some bars. Most of the bigger resorts have their own, most are beach bars. Karel's downtown is a small bar that (I think) has music some nights. City Cafe across the street gets a fairly good mix of locals/tourists. There's a bar at Buddys that's mostly divers hanging out post-dive. A beach bar at the Plaza, some nights there's a live band. Friday night there's often a bbq. btw the KLM flight attendants stay and tan there. There's also a place where the beachcam is located but I can't recall the name. But it was pretty dead when we stopped by one afternoon.

Carnival is in February, the Regatta is in the fall. You'll just miss the Windsurf competition, it's this week. So things will likely be normal when you're there.

For good food try Casablanca, Donna/Giorgio's for Pizza/Pasta or it rains fishes(pricey). There's also Bobby Jans BBQ takeout downtown just up the street from irf. We also had a pretty good meal at Zee Zicht, across from Karel's. They have food at City Cafe also but I didn't think it was anything special.

This local guy that was our guide on a horseback ride was saying that on Saturday night everybody parties in the streets downtown. I dunno if it's true or not. He was a big talker. And he liked to curse a lot........

Bonaire is pretty quiet at night. There were a good many people at the bars at Buddy's and Captain Don's. Of course divers. The place where the beachcam is is Eden Beach and there is an outdoor restaurant called Bongos but it was fairly quiet.
