Sunset House may be better but IMO it's pretty beat too, though a great place to hang out. It's well worth heading up to Turtle Reef for better diving, if you can arrange someone to dive with.
On the other hand, while Eden Rock or Sunset House might not be a fair reflection of Cayman diving, for a new diver they'll still probably look good. A guided shore dive at Don Foster's is a perfectly good way to start. While a cruise ship dive excursion on Cayman is probably not the best option for an experienced diver or someone who's been to Cayman before, as a new diver it might not be a bad idea either. They are used to inexperienced divers just let them know you're new. And quite possibly that's the max depth planned for the dive but you don't have to go that deep to see stuff, perhaps shoot the dive op (Red Sail?) an email and ask. |

when we where in caymen we snorkeled a wreck just west i think of the peir. It was a iron boat that came from spain i think Not to hard to find right off the shore. If we go with a cruise thinking about diving it. safe some cash on the dive op plus been there know alittle about it.
