Newbie getting equipments from scratch -- What just I buy?

I only have a wetsuit, fins, snorkel, and mask right now. I need to get all other equipment that will allow me to go diving.

Getting everything all in one shot will be a financial burden, so I'm wondering what I must buy right from the get-go and what I can pick up later. Can anyone point me to a "checklist" for things to buy?

I plan to dive only in 20' of water and one tank max each week. In this case, do I need a dive computer?

The first thing I bought was a good reg ... I don't like sharing equip that has been in other peoples mouths .... eww

Nope... for 20 foot dives, your available dive time is until next week Thursday. Stay as long as you want with no need for a computer.

But if going past 30, then they prove to be handy.

SPG, reg, octo, watch, dive table... first priority. Everything else as you can afford it and get an idea as to what you feel comfortable with. Rent a few different types of equipment to see what you like.

reg/octo/spg combo, wetsuit (you know, somebody peed in rental), mask+snorkel+fins were required on my training, so i`ve got them before. only thing i can think about you can wait is bcd, either jacket style, or back inflated, different peeps like different stuff... same with computer...
