Food and Diving

What foods do you recommend for diving? What foods you recommend avoiding for diving? Why?

If Im diving anytime soon I prefer light healthy meals - the last thing you want before/during/after diving is to have to go to bathroom or fight off heartburn..
I also make sure I drink strictly water as well and no sodas for me..

I have to agree. Light foods, nothing fried or spicy. Snacks between dives are always good. Seems that diving always makes me hungry. Also lots of water !!

In July, TxHockeyGuy cooked brats for the OW and Rescue classes. An hour later,we were all belching those things into our regs. Lesson learned. (but they were so-o-o-o-o good)

He also makes some great fajitas . I prefer light meals before the dive and in between dives i like to eat fruit and drink lots of water all day.

fruit & cereal for breakfast.
clif & luna bars for snacks
a normal lunch, I eat fairly healthy but I have to eat a huge lunch when diving.
whatever I want for dinner.

I will drink mostly water, an occasional soda, and an adult beverage or two for the whole week.

cereal bars are good snacks between and before dives. we always stop by a gas station and pick up a few per person, and usually green tea too. (arizona big cans)
