Dry Bag Issues

Has anyone else had problems with holes in their dry bags? I've had two Sea to Summit bags, which I absolutely love because they're so thin, but have to hate...because they're so thin. I've seen more rubber-ish type bags, which I guess is what I need to get next time. Does anyone else have this problem? Did you patch it or buy a thicker bag?

I use a dry bag I bought years ago from Campmor. It's made for canoeing and is about a 600-1000 denier rubberized nylon still works good.

Personally, I like Seal-line over Sea to Summit bags. The Seal-line seem to be a better quality.

My favorite:SealLine® Baja™ 20 Dry Bag from Campmor

I only use the heavier rubberized ones... so far without issue, though my dry backpack has some frayed corners I plan to touch up with aquaseal.

I have an Akona that I got for free..no problems as of yet.
Sounds like Aquaseal is a quick fix though.

we have a couple of no name drybags from ebay that are great. I have seen some clear ones that would make it easy to find stuff in, but then everyone else would see what you pack too.

I have 2 bags that are fairly heavy. One is a Seattle Sports bag that's taken a huge amount of abuse between kayaking and getting stuffed under seats on dive boats. It developed some tiny leaks at wear spots, but I dabbed Goop on the holes and that worked perfectly, though it's an ugly dry bag now. (I held it UW and circled where I saw bubbles with a grease pencil.) No complaints. Also a SealLine bag I like a lot and no problems yet, it's a bit heavier - also newer and I haven't abused it nearly as much.

Mmmmm... ugly. That's one of the best theft-deterrents out there.
I wish I had made my mountain bike ugly while I still had it.
