I contacted Blue Angel in Cozumel to check and see about the acceptance of DAN and DIVEASSURE in the area in the event of an emergency. In their reply they said that they themselves pay a fee to cover their customers in the event of an emergency. Not that one should rely on that entirely of course, but what do you guys know of this situation? How good and effective is a company such as Blue Angel's accident coverage? I myself thought this was good buisness and pretty cool for a company to take this precaution.
Another thing--they pointed out to me (I already knew about DAN) that both DAN and DIVEASSURE were secondary and not primary insurers. I thought that DIVEASSURE was primary???? It says they are on their website, but I would think a company like Blue Angel close to the industry would know. I haven't gotten a reply back from them with the answer to this question, but could they just be confusing DIVEASSURE with someone else?? or is there some sort of fine print I'm missing???

Diveassure IS primary. They promise. How effective is Blue Angels coverage? Unless you get a copy of it, you'll never know.....email anita or alex...I'm sure they can get you the info you seek on their coverage. Id still be hesitant to not have my own When are you going down?
I love Caribe Blue, and Blue Angel...but i would never leave my insurance to the vagaries of somebody else forgetting to pay a bill. Nope, not me. No way. |

I went with DiveAssure. I like having the coverage and I also think its cool that the Dive Ops have coverage too. I wouldn't RELY on it entirely either, but in the event of an accident it will be nice to have mine AND theirs! And Blue Angel was GREAT!
