Help with Malware

So the wife brings me her laptop and says somethings wrong.
Doesn't take long to determine it's a virus, and a pesky one at that. Has anyone encountered Rapid Antivirus?

This thing is annoying, I have manipulated the system restore, deleted files, cleared entries from the registry and ran Spybot. i cannot find where it is hiding. IT JUST KEEPS COMING BACK.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks Larry, i tried some of that but the .exe files are not running in the task manger and I cannot locate those file names either manually or using the search. Now, for some unknown reason, I cannot access the internet to download the removal software.

Looks like it's time for a little target practice with my new Scuba Toys spear gun!

Larry, do you sell laptops?

I had run into this a few weeks back at work. This thing literally shut down my computer within a couple of hours. Each time I tried to delete it, gay porn icons showed up on my desktop. We ended up wiping Windows and re-installing it to get rid of it. If that isn't an option I know you can google ways to manually disable it (if you are a techie), or you can pay like $30 to have it terminated on your computer.

This stuff sucks so badly to have and I hope you can get it fixed before it starts bugging out your screen and giving you the screen cut outs and fake Windows reboot screen.

you need to turn off system restore first...if you havent done so. system restore also restore viruses. When system restor is enabled it keeps a back up that you can not delete from. All the files in there are protected. Turn off system restore and try larry's fix it tool... Once you have completed the deletion and systems is ok, turn it back on if you want it.

Do you have the physical Windows CDs? If you do, take and reinstall Windows. That may take a while but you can definitely do it. Try to back up your music/pics/documents but wipe it out if you are stuck. Good luck to you man, keep us posted.
