Black Balled at local LDS PADI's response (or lack there of)
The same day I wrote the original post about my experiece (a week after the experience). I also wrote to PADI with the same desription but I added that the website I bought from was attached to a shop, a authorizrd dealer, and was owned by a Naui Course Director. I also asked them if this is the way I was treated by a PADI representitive why should I seek them out for future education. I got a form letter back immeadetly say thanks for submitting a comment and someone would get back to my within 2 business days. It's been weeks and I have not heard a thing.
From everything I have read on this board there is not a-lot of diffeence between the agencys programs. So I will probably take my next classes from the instructor that I meet and like the most. However I would have appreciated a note back from them saying that they where sorry about the situation.

I think he is saying that he was treated badly by a shop associated with PADI, for buying some equipment from an online shop associated with NAUI. The point being if one is treated well by NAUI and poorly by PADI why should they continue doing business with PADI?

I would not expect a training agency to be at all interested unless the problem involved training standards violations. And even then, I'd expect their response to be focused on damage control.
I also would not expect much interest from equipment manufacturers. This is a case where you will just have to take your business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same.

I bought the fins from ST and Larry is a course director for NAUI. I was trying to make the point to them that I didn't by it from some grey market site. As far as not wanting to know, If one of the people representing my company was driving away customers I would want to know about it. It would reflect poorly on me. On their website they have an entire flowchart showing how they handle complaints so I filled out the form. I didn't expect much but I would have appreciated a sorry it happened letter. I only have 19 dives in but I know I'm hooked. now that I am fully equiped I will be continuing my education as my budget allows. I had hoped to keep all my training in PADI just for consistency. Buy from reading posts on here i can see switching around is ok too.

Same reason I would want to know about a vendor in my area selling the furniture the company I work for makes mistreating customers. That way I could monitor complaints. If I get too many I would make sure we stop selling to them because it can reflect badly on us and our other stores. Again, not saying PADI should cut this LDS off, not saying PADI owes me anything. All I said was I notified them how a representiitve of theirs treated me. I also asked them to give me a reason why I should continue with PADI with my education. They have not replied.
