Ignored by Explorer Ventures

on 3 March I responded to an e-mailed advertisement advertising a special on Bahamas or Turk & Caico's diving in March or April. They apparently needed to fill some slots due to the short suspense. I expressed interest and asked for more particulars. After a couple of days I still had received no response to my e-mail, so I called and left a message with my phone number. Again no response.
I have Airline Miles I need to burn, I would have been able to take vacation from work during that time, and most important My wife has given me the Thumbs Up for a dive trip.

Looks like I'm going diving somewhere else Next month - There's a dive Op I regularly dive with in the Keys, but I really wanted a bit more of a getaway this spring..........Maybe I'll check out Mitsuguy in Utila Instead!

Whats the deal with Explorer Ventures?

None to my e-mail. None to my Phone call. I responded to their e-mail on 3 March, Phoned and left a message 8 March......

Perhaps they are going Belly Up in this poor economy????

Even if I was foolish enough to want to book with an outfit that doesn't respond, I couldn't because they don't respond.


As I'm typing this I'm watching a commercial for Sandals - Hey - I can dive with them and let my gauges hang all over the place
(I wonder if the Hot chick in the commercial comes with the reservation........I mean DIVE GUIDE.... I wonder if the DIVE GUIDE Comes with the Reservation

We've (I ) have kinda let this thread take a humerous tone, but I really am a bit P.O'd. and curious

Seriously - What's up with Explorer Ventures?? The reviews of their outfit I have read here and elsewhere have all been very positive ....

anyone else have any recent experience with them or knowledge??

I traveled with them in the Turks and Caicos islands in January and was well pleased. The trip was chartered out of a dive shop, so I didn't deal with Explorer directly.

These are tough times, anyone's guess what is going on with this company.

we've had many trips with them, always very happy. Strange they didn't respond to your e-mail, perhaps get an agent to contact them. E-mails often go un-answered due to volume(in many cases). It's worth the trouble........we highly recommend them Especially T&C!

just let me know... diving has been great and it's whale shark season!

I've become somewhat of a travel agent for this place... already got the parents coming down and also a couple friends... so many different ways to get here but oh so confusing

It's definitely cheap once you do get here...
