Help with fins

My question, is putting on fins part of the requirements? What about his buddy helping him? My son was in tears and he is not a baby at all. This man is rude to me and most of my kids during this course. He is not rude to my 19 year old daughter--no good either! She doesnt want to go back either because the way he treats her. What should I do? They have their 2nd open water dive Saturday, should I go with them (I am newly cert. myself)? This man goes way beyond what PADI requires in this course. We have so much money in this or I would quit now and go somewhere else...where the instructor likes to instruct. I personally don't think this person should be an instructor at all! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My fiance always helps me put on my fins and I help her with hers.

Scubamom -
I scrolled all the way through this thread & had thoughts on several different things that were brought up - but I'd really only like to stress only one thing for you to do as a parent diving with your kids - I'm a Dad who dives with my JOW daughter - & this I've learned:

Instill & reinforce in your kid that they have the individual right & duty to themselves & others to call-off any dive on any day with anybody (instructor or no) for any reason & they don't have to explain it to anybody if they don't want to. Make sure they fully understand, believe, & practice this & that they will have your full support & respect anytime they exercise this right.

Kids probably need to be have this concept about diving instilled & reinforced in them more than most adults.

Don't worry about the money spent - If it don't feel right - call the dive! Siempre hay manana.
