Clearly, most dive shops (and psi inspectors) do not fit the requirements.
I cant get the links to open... I would say send a copy of it to Dale Fox and ask him about it. I would be interested to hear what he has to say. Well I guess I would like to read it to, so if you can try a different link that would be great....

Try this again but a little less direct:
Look for part 180.205
Electronic Code of Federal Regulations:

Look at 107 Subpart I
Electronic Code of Federal Regulations:

WARNING - OFF TOPIC

I just wanted to say again how much I like this board over others. It has been nice to have a detailed discussion - with differences of opinions and not had ANY personal attacks or other deregotary comments. No other board I have (do) participate on would have lasted this long.

Kudos to all.

Luxfer states on there web sight that there has never been a dangerus failur do to the AL used in the making of these tanks but do to the number of people have consers over the "cracks" in the neck they where giving rebaits for a time there.
I have had one of these tanks from the time it was new and it has a list of hydro dates runing down the side of it.
Now I know how people can be about there fears and every one of use has the right to them But I belive many LDS are useing fear as a way to make a dime.
I fill this tank at home but still get it tested on time as I wish to know how it's doing.
I'm not here to make a problem So please don't flame me cuz I have a openuion.

There is no problem with using one as long as it passes the approiate tests... I also do not blame an LDS if they do not want to fill one. I know that a few of the LDS's around me will sell you a tank at cost if you bring one of the these in and turn it in to them...

Its not a flame but there has been catastrophic failures of 6351 alloy tanks.
Neck Cracks

I don't think its worth the risk personally.

There may have been no luxfer tanks to fail, but there have been other 6351 tanks. One in florida cost a teenager his hand.

Thats sad news about the kid there. Was that 1 of the 6 that was reported in that tred that you posted? or was it some other reson for tank blowing? I know of a guy that got killed, he did a vis on a tank then when he changed out the burst disk he put the new one in but there was 2 stuck together and then he hooked it up to fill then walked away from it. He got sidetracked and when he ran back to the tank it blow up.
Sad things happen. Most of the time people do harm to themselfs. But some of the time things just fall apart and people get hurt.
I'm not saying anything at all about your fear of these tanks, don't use them you will fell better. Of all the tanks out there 6 have blow as of the AL used. How many divers have been killed this year from Dip $hits in Boats?
