Is Reef Photo affiliated with Fill Express?

I bought a fisheye lens from Reef Photo in Fort Lauderdale yesterday via a phone transaction. This morning that transaction showed up in my bank account along with a charge from Fill Express in Pompano Beach. Since I live in Kansas, I'm pretty sure it wasn't my Nitrox tank getting filled. Anyone know if they're affiliated? I hate to cancel my card but if my number got ripped, I need to contact my bank before the scumbag decides he needs a new BC and wetsuit.

report

If the second charge was not authorized, then report it immediately to your credit card company with all the details. Perhaps even get them to freeze the card while you find out what is going on. Then call Fill Express and find out what was charged, how, by whom...good luck.

My credit card shows clear. Reef Photo's charge has not even hit yet, but I'll continue to monitor.

Just got off the phone with my bank and evrything's cool.

Turns out that Fill Express is actually Dive Rite Express. I ordered some bungee cord and a spool of cave line from them. Once I get over the relief I'm going to call Dive Rite Express and suggest that they let people know that charges to their account appear under another name.

Whew!

Glad to hear that it was innocent and that you're feeling better. Good idea on the advice to DRE.

Did you call Fill Express? I get my fills there and they are a very "above board" company.

Another note on Fill Express. They have changed thier name from Dive Rite Express to Dive Gear Express.

Fill Express is thier Fill station/front counter.

Dive Gear Express is thier back room / internet / mail order operation.

After concluding the discussions with my bank and several sighs of relief, I had to scramble around and get to work but I am going to call them this morning.

I do know that what shows up on your card statement is not necessarily the company name but the name on the vendor's merchant account. It is common to see language on e-commerce websites such as "Transaction will show up on your account as...". I don't know if they had that type of language on their site and I just missed it or if it wasn't there.

Either way, I want to let them know of the potential for misunderstanding.
