Too many whale sharks

I'm spending two weeks in Cancun and doing a ton of diving. I booked a whale shark trip through Solo Buceo last week. The boat ride out was great but when we got there I saw over 100 whale sharks swimming about. How am I supposed to pick which ones to look at?

After two hours we had to leave and I didn't get to see them all. Too many whale sharks and not enough time.

Braggart! Please tell me that your dive buddy was on that dive. That alone should be a selling point to keep your buddy diving!

Sounds to me like the Dive Op is at fault, the bastages.
Name them publicly so we all know who they are!

You must of went up to the Holbox area. You swim/snorkel with them only. They say it is the largest gathering of whalesharks in the world. Was there 3 years ago blew me away...everywhere you look a whaleshark...Going back next July.

I'm not sure what the area is called but the dive op, Solo Buceo, had us there first before the herd arrived. When we left there were over 25 boats with swimmers there. I took a ton of pics and had a great time even though I had to wear one of those tubes attached to my mask.

Lulu, my dive buddy didn't go. She was not the least bit interested in a two hour boat ride. We only had 10 people on our boat. Three got sick so I had extra time in the water!

Oh that's too bad! Well I am happy to be your dive buddy anytime you are signing up for a 2 hour boat ride here.

Was out yesterday, a bit rough, 1/2 the boat down sick. But a good dive regardless.

Make friends with the Bonine! No reason to ruin a great dive trip with the heaves. I didn't take any bonine for the whale shark trip, seas were 2-3 feet in a small (23 foot) boat. I only wish I had brought some sardines and a cigar, then I would have had all of the water time!

Oh I did take bonine, and I dove. But I was still queasy and there were plenty of divers, both bonine takers and not, who were too sick to dive. I'm a convert now.
