There's a valid reason why I'm always checking my flights. My husband teases me, but I don't trust them to notify me of changes and don't want to get surprised at the last minute.

Ellen got ahold of the travel agent when we landed at DFW. We were still on the tram when he called back with confirmation that we had a place to stay. American just did not contact anyone. They did bump us up to first class for the Cozumel leg though, so I am complaining very quietly. I was able to book another pair of dives in the morning also. Now we'll see if I can take some pictures.

Let me just tell you Kat, it ain't what it use to be...really overrated...except for the LEGROOM! I get bumped up a lot due to my frequent flyer status.

I can remember a sad trip home from Italy back in 2001. Ran into a friend who was a flight attendant and she stuck me up in first. Plied me with filet, Godiva chocolates, and good champagne the whole way home. Those were the days...

Of course there is, because you are paying for it in your ticket cost But let me tell you, that has also been dumbed down. I can't even drink most of the wine the pour up there.

I hear Singapore airlines has an absolutely sweet first class, but I have no status and it cost a bit too much to buy it.

Been in First Class once .... it was Braniff .... that will tell you how long ago it was!! I was going to a funeral and traveling with a 4 year old - didn't really get to enjoy it.

As for overrated - it probably depends on the airline. The 4 year old (now turned 27) just got back from a trip to Turkey - flew British Airways Club World (Business class.) Talk about spoiled!! Hanging out in the lounge with the free booze & food ... and check out the seating on-board!!
