Post Counts

I have made three posts that have all said that my count was the same, does anybody else experience this?

Who cares about post counts except for the $bling$ $bling$ offered by Scubatoys.

but if you are posting in 'welcome' and in 'games' I believe, they don't count

Some forum posts won't count toward your post count, Man Laws is one of them. Who knows why administrators are so concerned about how many post counts someone has. It is one of the big mysteries of forum life. They all do it, no one knows why, I think we should just elminate them all together so we can focus on more important matters.

Yea, the whole post count thing, and ratings (tadpole, guppy, grouper, etc) are all in forums so folks know how much experience other people have on the forum. Now, sometimes there is the mistake on a forum like this where the number of posts somehow equates to scuba experience... There are people with a lot of posts that do not have much diving experience... And folks that have thousands of dives and just a handful of posts!

It's really all just for fun, and as the previous poster pointed out, we do have multiple incentives for posting in the forum in the way of gift certificates for hitting some post numbers. But we want those posts to at least have something to do with scuba! So the word games, threads about the Bourne Identity, who pee's in the shower, etc... are not included in post counts.

Hope that makes sense and seems fair!
