Waiting is the hardest part!

Finally ordered my Whites Fusion drysuit yesterday from ST after months of deliberation. I was excited the moment I hit the confirm order button and was anticipating maybe getting in a pool dive next week or so, until the phone call. ST said they were out of my size and is having to order one from Whites in Canada so it is going to take 2-3 weeks longer so they were asking if I wanted to cancel my order. I decided to just go ahead and wait it out since ST hasn't wronged me yet but now I'm having to wait longer!!!!

Not really a complaint more of just trying to vent some anticipation. I know if there's a problem with the suit on down the road Joe and Larry will take care of me like they always have. Now I just have to distract myself for the next 3 weeks so I don't go crazy.

I hope you enjoy your Fusion as much as I do mine. I think you'll find it was worth the wait.

I am currently in the fusion pondering phase my self and am looking forward to placing my order once I get my hands on some tax money. WHich skin did you go with? I was originally thinking the Tech LTD but they dont offer any more with the Bullet coming out.

I just went with the standard Lycra skin right now since I was trying to do this fairly cheaply. If money wasn't an option I would have gone with the Bullet but I'm in no hurry to get a skin just yet. You should call ST and see if they still have some of the Tech LTD skins still in stock though. The Bullet just recently came out so they may still have some sitting around and if not you can check with Dive Right in Scuba.

I am kind of curious about the fusion. I think if i am going to get back into diving like i was i will need a backup suit. So whats the deal with them. Is the skin a neoprene skin? Anyone use a fusion cave diving. How well do they hold up vs. a traditional trilam?

Just thought of another question. What is the difference in the skins? Specifically between the Tech LTD and the LTD edition Tech Skin.

I think it's a lycra skin. I think the tech skin is tougher and you probably want that for cave, rough shore entry diving or other technical diving. You can add pockets and I think there are other advantages too.

I think they're about to come out with a new bullet skin, but I dunno what the deal with that one is.

I'm in the same boat. I'm like a little kid waiting on Christmas morning.

I was going to go with the LTD but they are gone. I went with the Bullet and got a good deal.

It's heavier duty around the knees, buttocks, shoulders, and elbows. Its called (Gator Tech at the reinforced areas).

The default skin that comes with the suit is made of Lycra while the others are neoprene with extra reinforcement in some areas. If you feel the Lycra skin you would think that it isn't super durable but others have been using it in caves and on rocky shore entries with Zebra mussels just fine. If you plan on cave diving I would go with the new Bullet skin as they've made some improvements on it over the Tech LTD skin and it gives you pockets.

My understanding on the difference between the Tech LTD and the LTD is the addition of pockets, graphics, and maybe a little difference in construction but I'm not sure on that. If you really want more information on it contact Mike at Dive Right In Scuba, he hangs out on SB a lot and The Deco Stop some.

I've done my fair share of reading on the Fusion and there's plenty of threads on it over at SB. Here's a good one to get you started though:
