IMO- I would do as FD sugest and slightly file the post just enough to pop into the keyway...........

I haven't seen your fins, but a thought to consider: You may want to consider taking the file to the metal keyway to enlarge the hole a bit, rather than filing the plastic posts. The metal is stronger, and if the plastic is too small, it will break. You can get new straps easier than new fins, and the fins are toast if that nub breaks off...

My spring straps (I have two sets, one for drysuit one for wetsuit/skin) all have a hoop on them in the back to make them easier to put on and to take off.

To install them on my Quatros I used a pliers to force them to bite the posts they work great and wont come off.
