Spring Straps

Greetings All,
I just got my new springs straps for my Tusa Xpert Zoom fins. I'm really looking forward to using these easier straps. Unfortunately neither of the clips that come with the straps fits my Xpert Zoom posts. The holes in the ones marked for the large post fins are just a little bit too small. Has anyone experienced this before. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,

Bob Given

Same happened with me. I have Genesis fins. The post was just a tad too big to get the clip over. Just take a small hobby file and file down a little flat spot on the posts so that the clip can just barely "pop" over it.

No, they really don't need it. They aren't tight enough when worn that you can't slip your fingers underneath it.

Too Big Post

Greetings All,
Thanks for the suggestions. It's the actual post that will not fit the keyway for the spring strap. I'm getting ready for a two week trip to North Sulawesi so I think I will just open up the keyway a slight bit. I'll let you know how it works out.

Regards,

Bob Given

Spring Straps?

Do they hold the fins on tight enough, I have a hard enough time not losing fins with the rubber straps ratched tight.

It seems like they would roll right off your heel, is this the case?

In my experience, they're at least as secure as rubber straps, if not much more so. I've been using spring straps I made myself for 6 years now, and never had an issue with them slipping.

I love my spring straps and will never dive without them again. I like the kind with the rubber loop on the back to make it easier to snag when I want to remove my fins. I've never felt like my fins were going to come off and find them much easier to put on and take off.
