    Oceanic Veo 250 Computer Console

anyone out there using this computer console? or just the computer... what can you tell me about it? is it small/compact? oceanic web site does not give you the measurements on the unit under specs. http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...=OceanicVeo250

I originally used the Veo 250 console. I've since moved the Veo 250 to my wrist as well as the compass.

The console is really no more compact than any other;about 5inches long. I had it attached to a retractor. The SPG is now snap-clipped to my left hip D-ring.

This is what i have and i like it.
Pretty easy to read and not too tricky to work out how to use it.
    The quick disconnect is handy.
I have only done about 5-6 dives with it and it seems to be pretty good.
Good value for the price i think

Have used one for about 100 dives. Simple to use; easy to read. Has nitrox capability. Does all the basics. Doesn't want you to ascend faster than 30 ft/min once above 60 fsw, so is conservative in that respect. Happy with mine.

I have been using one as well in my console. Works well. The only thing was that the battery it came with was just about dead. After my 5th dive on it, I had to have it replaced. I don't know if it was overuse at trying to get my PC to connect to it, or maybe it was sitting around the shop a long time before getting it. My LDS replaced it for free and its worked great since.

I have the VEO 250. Originally I was going to have it in a SWIV console, but decided I prefer it on my wrist. Still have the SPG and compass on the console.

Great computer, I'm very happy with it. I was looking at the SUUNTO VYPER and basically came to the conclusion that the Oceanic did everything I wanted for a much cheaper price.

Easy to use. I liked the screen setup much better than most of the other computers out there. The info it provides just seems layed out very logically to me.

Lot's of user customizable features. I had no problem getting it hooked up to my computer. Free software available from the Oceanic website. ST will sell you the data cable for $50 if you buy it with the computer (regularly $90....can you believe that??? For a stupid little cord???)

I would recommend this computer to anyone. Anything else I can answer, let me know.

I use the 250 but it's wrist mounted. Going along with what everyone else has said, the veo is very user friendly and easy to read. Now if I could only find a cable for less than $90.

I have a question regarding the visual alarm on the Veo 250. When an alarm is activated what exactly flashes? Does the whole unit flash using the backlighting or does just the numbers flash. Thanks.
