Aeries XR2 vs. Suunto Vyper

If the price was the same, which computer would you get and why?

Well if you're talking about the used ones on sale in the forum, you'll have to get the Vyper now since the Aeris is gone.

Personally, I've been asking myself the same question since we're computer shopping and I think I'm leaning more towards the Vyper. ST is offering a really good deal on the RX2 though so it's still a tough decision.

Our LDS offers a free computer class with purchase and is an authorized Aqualung repair facility. Gah, tough choice.

Before you decide, you might want to consider Uwatec. I struggled through the computer question for 6 months, and after reading everything I could find, I went with a SmartCom. The only downside is that the battery is not user replacable. you have to send it back to ScubaPro, where they break open the case (literally break it open).

What kind of advantages does the Uwatec have over the Suunto and Aeris?
