SPG setup..

hey, so ST ran out of highland gauges before i could get one, so another site matched their price... so now i have to assemble it myself! i got this little thing with the spg (first pic), don't know what it is, but it LOOKS like it goes into somehing else (second pic).. see pics!

The little piece is called a spool.

This article talks about when spools go bad, but it should also give you what you need to understand how it works and how to put the SPG on a HP hose.

Slide the spool into the hole on the SPG, line your HP hose up with it and tighten it up. Don't over tighten though. Hook it up and test it.

Since the deal isn't being advertised anymore, I doubt anyone will match it.

Watch ebay for gauges at maybe $10 more (people who buy and flip)

wow... so how many gauges did they sell?
mine came in yesterday... and this thing is solid!

i just slid the spool in there, careful so you don't knick the orings... and put your hose on.

That changing hose line is something I'll remember. I am glad, however, when a new diver asks me to help them... at least they're not tearing into their life support without caution.
