UWATEC Smart Smartcon

Do you have anything to say about it? A friend has a new unit and wants to sell me that.
ScubaToys doesn't sell them. (Why is that?)

ScubaToys is not a dealer for ScubaPro/Uwatec.

There are some issues with the SmartCon line. Some work without issue for years, others have recurring issues and require many warranty replacements. Also, the ScubaPro warranty does not transfer, it's only for the original owner and only if purchased from an authorized dealer. And changing the battery requires service from the factory, which is fairly expensive if it's not under warranty.

Something to keep in mind.

I use a SmartCom and havent had any problems with it but if you read the posts on Scubaboard you will find many people who have had problems with it. I just recently bought an Aeris Atmos AI computer from ST and I actually like the features and user replaceable battery on the Aeris computer much more than the SmartCom. Considering where you are at it might also be difficult getting service for your SmartCom. Also,... the battery on the SmartCom is not user replaceable,... you have to send it in to UWATEC for a new battery which may be a pretty good wait from where you are at.
