I tested it out at my local store and didn't like it at all. It seemed to be more difficult to use at a glance than a regular compass.
It's laid out like- W...................N....................E with little arrows at the top to show you which way your marks are. Supposedly eats battery too. |

I've got the electronic compass on my Cobra 2, and don't much care for it. Ended up with an SK7 which to me is more user friendly. I initially thought I'd be saving a piece of gear with an integrated compass, but now it's more of a solution in search of a problem.

Problem is this....In order to actually use the compass you need to be totally still if you want return markers to appear. They are the direction markers that signal you to turn 180 degrees for say a return heading. You must hold the unit at a 5 degree angle or it wont show the little arrows. The main compass works nice, but for finer detail such as reverse headings and so forth its very hard. A great idea for the well experienced divers but as some newer divers may be a bit tricky to use. I have the Suunto Cobra 2 but i went and bought a wrist mount with boot compass. My two cents
