Small boat, perhaps not, but larger boats are no problem. I always bring my Palm Treo with me, because my computer beams it's logs directly into a logbook application on the Treo before it syncs back with my main computer.

The gas blending app for the iPhone is just for people blending their own mixes. Not sure I'd pay $6 either, since I think there are web pages that do it for free, but maybe.

I'll get an iPhone eventually, but not until they add cut and paste, and deal with transferring ALL of my contact info (including note fields) from my Treo to the iPhone address book.

If people are interested enough, I will consider making a logbook for it. I wot be able to design a direct sync since I don't have a computer.

I had that problem too. I pay $30 for the unlimited texting on the family plan so my husband has it too. I only use about 250-300 a month, so I really wish there was an in-between. He uses around 500 a month.

Well, when I posted that I was using my ipod. lol

I meant dive computer.. If someone wants to donate their computer to me, I'd be happy to accept and try to make it sync.

I'd love to see iPhone apps for diving. It'd be something I could use then, check weather and dive plan on my telephone while calling my buddies up to go.

You can do most of those things on a Treo today.

But it would indeed be a lot better on an iPhone...

Just wanted to add something to the thread. I bought that app that does Nitrox stuff, it's very useful and I think a fairly good app. Sure you can browse the web and find the same data, but what if you have no cell service?

Of course you could use the manual calculator and figure out the stuff, but the app is nicer. You can figure PP fills, the mods, best mix, etc. Not a bad little app.

If your Treo can sync with Outlook then you could do the whole thing. I know the notes do sync and transfer over, the only real omission is the cut and paste and that doesn't make sense to me.

Notes don't sync with the iPhone. It's a problem. They do get backed up, but they DON'T sync. There is no desktop application where you can write a note, save it, sync your phone, and pull up that note on your phone. (I'm not talking about web-based workarounds, or using dummy address book entries, either.)
