How many of you wear your wrist computer as an every day watch?
Ok, so, its fairly obvious at least 99.99% of everyone are not going to wear a puck.
![]() BUT, there are other options. Specifically the Aeris Manta and I think Oceanic has a sports-sized watch thats a computer. The biggest downside to these watches/computers is that the displays are obviously smaller than a puck. Having only 5 logged dives in anything other than the pool, I'm not sure how important a large display is to me. How many of you place a prime importance on the size of the display? Thanks guys! I have watches. They are excellent timepieces.
I don't expect them to be good dive computers, and I don't expect dive computers to be good watches. On a hardcore dive vacation, I suppose I could see letting a computer pull double duty as a watch, but every day? Why? No thanks. |

I wear my Mares Nemo as a watch on most days. I get a lot of compliments on it as a timepiece and most never know its a dive computer. For recreational diving, I find it to be a great computer (it has a pretty large display I think...anyway, quite easy to read except at night).

ooh ooh pick me!
I recently purchased a Scubapro "Extender" to replace my dive watch as a backup bottom timer. The Extender is actually a computer and as often as not, I have found myself just keeping it on as a watch. Gives me 2 computers while diving. But normally as CD says, I don't expect a computer to be a watch. What I have done is to stop using my watch for diving.

I have good eyes (knock on wood) still, but it's still a lot easier to glance at a larger display and see the big number in a flash than it is to focus in on a tiny watch display. |
