Mares MC2 RGBM Console, first computer?
I'm looking at the Zeagle Brigade package that comes with the Mares MC2. I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere for this thing. Does anyone have experience with it?
I like the idea of having a pressure gauge so I'm not totally reliant on the technology... I hear it is nitrox compatible which will be nice for the future I assume, but what about general ease of use? Also I use a mac and I understand none of these computers are very compatible. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to approach this? |

I've rented the wrist-mount M2 several times and have been real happy with it. It will do everything the rec diver needs, has simple to replace batteries, a great backlight that can be left on, big easy to push buttons, and a nice big dispay for my 44 year-old eyes!
For reviews, also search for just "Mares M2" (The C just means console). There are a few out there as I recall. Take some time on the Mares sight, download the manual, and get a feel for it; it's pretty intuitive. MARES MC2 Personally, you may also want to consider the wrist mount, and then add a nice SPG for a more streamlined experience, and it's much easier to take a peek at the wrist than dig around for the console: ![]() MARES M2 Brass & Glass SPG It's not pretty and skinny, so I think it is often overlooked as a viable solution. ![]()

Warren has it all right! Great computer, I love mine! I prefer wrist mounts since it's easier to take a quick glimpse. For the price, it's one great computer. It does pretty much everything within recreational limits. I'm sure if you ask Scubatoys, they'll gladly change out the console for the wrost mount (if this is what you prefer).
Only drawback to this computer I've found is the buttons can be stiff to push at times. It gets 3 thumbs up!!! Cheers! CODMAN Quote:

The XYL and I used our M2s for the first time yesterday. I can't get over how fast we adapted to using a dive computer. For the $$ this is the one for sure. both have the wrist mount

Awesome. Thanks for the input. I was wondering where the "C" was going on a lot of the sites I looked at. Looks likely that the ST crew will let me sub in the wrist computer with the Tusa pressure gauge and compass, which sounds nice.
Now... to meditate on the emptiness of my wallet. |
