GEO vs VEO 250

Okay I am regretting the Veo 100 purchase used it during OW and on a few dives after, it will make a good back up .

But what are your thoughts on GEO vs VEO 250, pros cons?
Thanks

I used the Veo 250 since my first dive for OW certification. Love it!! Be sure to get the computer download cable. The software provides a lot of detail of each dive, and manual entries and photos may be entered for each dive as well. It even provides a graph of each dive. I use this log, in concert with my written logbook.

I originally got the Veo 250 on a console, and have since move it to the wrist.

Geo??? I got nothing.

I have a VEO 250 and it's excellent computer. I have about 100 dives on it and it still has the original battery in it. The only thing better would be the ProPlus with the big charaters and integrated pressure gauge. It just depends if you want the puck style or the console style. I use my VEO in the console it came with. The VEO 250 two button operation allows quick easy adjustemnts. I had a old Dataplus before this and it was excellent computer except for the single button operation.

yep that is what got me thinking, when we were buds at CSSP, downloading came up in conversation, the 100 does not support it, thanks for the profiles btw. It will make a good back up , but thinking 250, geo or a AI. It is never ending.

You should ALWAYS have a separate SPG on your tank in the event of computer failure. Redundancy is your friend.

@leesanhua:
The Geo is not an air-integrated computer, so you must install a SPG on a high pressure hose in order to know how much air is in the tank.

With regard to having an analog SPG backup for an air-integrated computer, I would disagree with Vercingetorix. I dive with several people who use air-integrated computers who do not have an analog SPG backup. If the computer spazzes out, then we end the dive. We do recreational no-deco dives, and frankly I don't see this kind of redundancy as necessary.
With regard to the hoseless air-integrated computers, such as the Oceanic Atom or the Suunto D9, I would recommend having an analog SPG backup since the wireless communication can malfunction at times. This is one of the instances in which having 2 HP ports on your regulator first stage is a good thing.

Hope this info helps...
