VT Pro - Computer Cable?
I just bought the Oceanic VT Pro (ebay), and am wondering if anybody thinks it is worth it to get the usb cable ($90 on Scuba Toys) or is that just a gimick that I won't use much??
Gradually working my way (and my wifes) towards a full setup ![]() thx, |

That really depends on you. I don't much care to download my dives and have log on my computer... I really stopped logging every dive when I hit about 3000 dives...
But some folks like the ability to go back and view the dives, profiles, air consumption, etc. If you are one of those - then the cable is necessary for downloading the data to your PC. If not - then don't bother with it. BTW, I hope you found a good deal on a used one - as the only one I found on ebay was a place selling new ones... but these have been discontinued for a few years with the introduction of the VT3 which does a lot more, and includes the cable, and with your board discount - is cheaper than the Vt Pros I'm seeing on Ebay. Thanks for the response!
yeah, it was a pretty good deal, not as good as it initially looked, but still good. When I was looking I was more comparing the VT pro to the geo. I also compared the spec's on the VT3 versus the VT pro, and didn't see a huge amount of difference. Only thing I really noticed was that the VT3 can monitor 3 transmitters versus the the 1 on the vt pro, also looks like the are the same transmitters. I figure down the road I'll get a VT3, at which point, btwn my wife and I, we'll have one computer that can monitor both transmitters, and one download cable. Cheers, |
