Metric Gauges?

Just browsing through gauges online, it seems almost every set of pressure and depth gauges is in the imperial system (PSI/FT).

I learned to dive in Australia and as a result I think in the metric system when underwater.

Any chance of finding a good set of gauges that are in the metric system?

Also, I have not dived yet in this hemisphere. Should I try to learn to dive with imperial system gauges?

There are all kinds of metric gauges out there. In fact once scuba toys sent me a bunch by mistake. I kept them as it does make thinking easier when I am calculating gas needs.

Also most computers can be set to either metric or imperial.

You could get an air-integrated computer. My Sherwood Wisdom will show bar or PSI with a simple option change. ST has it at Sherwood Wisdom 2 Dive Computer reviews and discounts, Sherwood. There are probably other air-integrated computers that can do the same thing.

I have Oceanic metric gauges. ST should be able to get them. I just explain how to read the pressure gauge to my dive buddy, so they are not confused when diving with me. I convert to PSI when hand signaling. OMS has some gauges with both.

You can go either way, what ever is comfortable for you. No matter what, there will need ot be translation/converion if your buddies are on the "other" system. In your area, you should be able to find metric guages, but it may take a little more searching.

I'm in Oz and I got my Guage from ST in Metric. Send the guys a message and they can tell you which ones are available in Metric.
