Aeris Elite T3

I am interested in going AI. I currently have an Aeris Atmos-II and like it, so I am intrigued by the Elite T3. Any experience with, thoughts? Any suggestions for better AI computers (and why)? Thanks.

I have the VR3 which is it's kissing cousin. I think you're looking at a fine computer. You'll like it.

I love mine. Aside from a battery issue I had at the beginning, I have had no problems. The computer software that came with it can use an overhaul. I switched the band out for a velcro one. I was concerned that the standard band could come loose. All in all, I think it is great!

How did you do the velcro band? I've never had a problem with mine getting loose, but I did have it crack on me and I had to replace it. Next time I might do what you did, but I need the full length as it comes and wonder where you found the band?

I found the navigation from menu to menu to be less than intuitive, but down underwater it performed flawlessly. I had hear rumors of loss signal etc., but none of the units demoed lost signal. It was easy to read at least for me. I prefer bungee boots rather than the wrist bands, but that's more of a personal preference than anything else.

Now the only thing it needs is a bungee cord and I'll be happy!

My wife and I use them and are happy. They are big, and easy to read. If you have "younger" eyes you might take a look at the smaller Atom 2.0. My son uses that and is happy with it.

Only lost signal once that I knew of, when I had arm outstretched for a photo. It reacquired signal in a second or so. I suppose I may have lost signal other times and just not known it.

Only "complaints" are that their temperature readouts are not very accurate and they seem to get confused about what altitude they are at. I live at about 5000' and between 5 Oceanic/Aeris computers in my family, we have a range of altitude readouts.

They always seem to get their act together when we dive, though. Doubt I'll ever go back to non-AI or a console.

We have Oceanic VT3 computers which for all intents and purposes is the same as the Aeris T3. We really like them a lot. Love the features, and find them very easy to use. Haven't had any problem with signal loss, and once we figured out how the menu is organized, haven't had any problem with navigating that either.

I had to send mine back 2 times for repair. First time the tank sender dumped on my 2nd dive day in the caribbean. Second time it blanked the screen at 85 feet on a cold water kelp forest dive. Third time the tank pressure went blank at over 90 feet in cold water kelp forest dive and I sold it on ebay, replaced with a Galileo Sol and haven't had a problem since.

Just my 2 psi.
