Mares M2 NDL

Hey, Just got a Mares M2. What i have noticed is that the NDL for repetitive dives are very very conservative and are a lot less then my Oceanic VEO 180. Ive been through the manual and cant find much about it, just wondering if anyone knows (if possible) to change the NDL to a less conservative setting.

Thanks

Hi Fox, the M2 uses a modified RGBM model which is considered amongst the most conservative out there. And unfortunately, there is no way of making it less conservative. You can make it more conservative however with the altitude adjustments. But not less...

I've been using mine for a few years now and have never noticed a very big difference in NDL time. Maybe a few minutes on repetitive dives... But nothing that makes a big difference for me!

Hope this answers your question!

Way, way too conservative. By my 2nd dive on a week in Cozumel it had me doing deco time! Fortunatly I was wearing my other computer also (Geneis React Pro). After I got back to the boat, the Mares has never seen the water again. Anybody want to buy a computer?

Just about all computers are way conservative.....it's a liability, thats why each have there own calculation models, to build in a margin of safety.

Tables are the same way...PADI Tables are way more conservative than my NASDS tables, by as much as 35-40 minutes on some shallower dives.
