Aeris Elite Computer Problem

This is an odd one, it has happened before, but I chalked it off and forgot about it.

Went diving about three weeks ago at CSSP and upon downloading had no issues. All dates and times were correct.

Now, last week, went to Cozumel and upon returning back after 7 days of wonderful diving I uploaded the data and the dates begin on Janury 17, 2003 (it was March 18, 2009) and the clock on the computer is off by 15 hours and some odd minutes. So now I have to manally update each entry to correct the time, thank god I had my Citizen watch on that recorded each dive as well. My wife's computer has never had an issue.

The computers are about 4 years old and have new batteries. They were purchased from a licensed Dive Shop in Fort Worth, but unfortunately it is out of business now.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. It happen sporatically, I wish there was rime or reason.

Did you change the batteries between the dives? When you change the batteries, the time is reset to the default (1/1/2003)...

No, I did not change the batteries. They are showing full power.

Were the date and times correct on the computer itself, and just wrong after you uploaded it? The Aeris upload software is a little temperamental.

I had not noticed the date and time when I turned it on last week, but the dates were incorrect on the wrist unit and matched the uploaded info. The dives from three weeks ago had the correct date and time and I have not changed anything in between.

Aeris/Oceanic have some of the best customer service in the industry, I would talk their tech support and they will probably suggest the same things here and then have you send it in.

Do the same date/times show up in the on board logbook?
If so, then something caused the unit to reset.
If not, and the dates/times in the on board logbook look OK, it could
be a serial link problem.

My wife's Aeris AI occasionally has random problems downloading. It will show
random/garbage date/times in the selection dialog prior to downloading.
Usually it is due to a slight amount of moisture in the unit but sometimes
it is just random.
Usually re-seating the cable connector in the computer and retrying the download
operation will cure the problem.
