I'll answer the second part... Yes. If later you decide to console mount it, we can sell you just the gauge with a boot that has a hole for the computer, then you can slap it right in.
I'll leave the rest to other members of the board! Thanks for coming to our new community! |

I used one for two years until I started doing Nitrox.
I loved it. Great little computer, did everything that I needed for what I wsa doing.

I got one this spring and have been using it all summer. It does everything you really need it to, so for the price I doubt that you can beat it. The only feature I found myself wanting the other day was a backlight. But that was at 80 ft in a quarry up here in Michigan - it was fairly dark and my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I was able to read it though, by either tilting it just right or shining a flashlight on it.

I would not reccomend getting a computer that is NOT nitrox compatible. Between how the cheap class is, the lack of checkout dives, and the huge benefits you get from diving it, I don't see why everyone doesn't dive EANx.
I would be willing to guess that if you aren't nitrox certified now, you will be within a 2 years. That would mean buying another computer, and that's just a waste of cash!

i'd get Nitrox computer unless you're certain that you're not going to dive with Nitrox for the next few years. it's a great capability to have in a computer, of course if you use it. XR-2 has Nitrox capability if you want to stick with Aeris (you can get it for ~300, or you can go with Gekko for a bit less.
