Mares MC1 RGBM Computer Console
Has anyone used the Mares MC1 RGBM Computer Console?
What do you think? In the Package my wife and I are looking at it includes an Aeris 3 Gauge and will upgrade to a basic air computer for $100.00 more than the package. I was wondering if this Mares Computer Console would be better or not? Thank you any advice |

Hi dog, the computer console is basically a M1 computer in a console with a pressure gauge. So just to make things clear, this is not an air integrated system! It,s the equivalent to having the M1 computer on your wrist and a depth gauge on your SPG (but obviously all in one package).
My girlfriend has a M1, and I have a M2 (the slightly revamped version of the M1, but it's almost identical). I like it a lot. It's a good little computer that does everything you need it to do. To boot, there are user changeable batteries, a permanent backlight setting (so it stays on during your night dive), and a RGBM algorithm (which is more concervative). The only downside to these computers are the buttons are hard to push (which can be an upside since the computer won't change windows or modes accidentally ).If you like the idea of a console (I prefer having my computer on my wrist), it's a fine setup for recreational diving! Hope this helps! |

I just got an M2-if nothing else go with the Nitrox option so it will last if you decide to go nitrox. I dive the M2
Mares M2 Nitrox / Air Dive Computer, Computers: Nitrox, Mares, Mares M2 Nitrox / Air Dive Computer on my wrist so its my computer as well as a back up depth guage. If my console or computer craps out I have the other to get me back to the surface.
