Talking Mares Nemo Wide users, opinions please

Hi, Im considering one of the Nemo Wide computers, for the price, and for the size of the screen. i have done some reading, and it seems like a nice computer, good features, Air/Nitrox (i will do nitrox in the summer).
so, just any opinions from actual users, please fill me in on what i need to know.
Thanks.

I have been using one for about a year and love it. Mares had a problem with a few of the early ones (including mine), but they replaced it with no hassle.

I love the large screen with all the information easy to read.

It is very conservative - gives somewhat shorter bottom time on deeper dives - than some of the Oceanic and Aeris computers - but that is fine with me - I like to be on the safer side.

Mares also got the download system right - has worked great from day 1 - plus, if you get the download system you can get firmware updates for the computer and install them yourself.

How conservative? is it a big time difference compared to Oceanic computers? Thanks for the input

Scuba Diving Magazine's last computer evaluations included the Nemo Wide - and you can see from their charts what the differences were.

Personnally, I have never approached the NDL with the computer - but I do not do deep wreck dives and try and squeeze out every last minute of bottom time from my dives. I've always run out of air before I run out of NDL, even with a deep (100') dive, since I start deep and work my way shallow.

One nice thing about the Nemo Wide is if you do exceed NDLs, it will tell you when and where and for how long to make your stops to avoid a problem (since it has a DECO mode).

Thanks for mentioning the review they did. it said that it was the most conservative computer they tested. it kind of makes me weary of it for some reason. if i do a live-a-board, am i gonna be cut short on dives 2 days in? something like that could cost me time in the water, and i dont like the sound of that, but i still am attracted to that computer.

I've done 4 dives per day for several days and never had a problem - but I don't push either my bottom time or depth - I take pictures and most of that is between 30 and 50 feet.

You can have a very aggressive computer, dive it close to the limits, never exceed them, and come back very bent, even if the computer says you should be fine - I like conservative, gives me a little edge.

Normally cutting a dive short by 10 min and depth by 10 ft means little when you are doing lots of dives. But that is me - I'll readily trade shorter bottom time and less depth for my safety (shorter dives on days 1-3 sure beats spending days 4-5 in the chamber).
